Free tax assistance is available to taxpayers with low-to-moderate incomes through the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program sponsored by the WARM Center. This service is provided during tax season from the end of January through the middle of April.
We prepare and e-file Federal and State Income Tax Returns at no charge. Preparation and e-file submission of basic returns is offered by appointment by IRS trained and certified community VITA volunteers.
We provide assistance with:
- Form 1040EZ, 1040A, and basic 1040 Federal tax returns
- State tax returns
- E-file
- Direct Deposit
An exciting change in the Earned Income Tax Credit for 2009, it now has a category for three or more qualifying children - thereby substantially increasing the threshold amounts. Threshold amounts for 2009 are as follows:
- $13,440 ($18,440 if married filing jointly) if you do not have a qualifying child
- $35,463 ($40,463 married filing jointly) for one qualifying child
- $40,295 ($45,295 married filing jointly) for two qualifying children
- $43,279 ($48,279 married filing jointly) for three or more qualifying children
